
Orinda Magic Player drafted 11th, by the WNBA:
Jene Morris became the first SDSU woman ever drafted by the WNBA. Jene played some of her AAU ball with Orinda Magic under the late Darrell Hirashima. Her Orinda Magic team, which also included Jontelle Smith and Jasmine Smith of SMC, La'Teena Wickett of Pepperdine, Kiesha Phelps of Pasadena College, Briana Weiss of Villanova, Shay Rollins of USF, and Brittany Boswell of MHS was arguably the greatest team ever assembled at Orinda Magic.

Batlin joins another former Orinda Magic star, Jontelle Smith, who is entering her third season as a Gael.

10/26/06 - Orinda Magic graduate, Anna Magganas, is preparing to start her first season playing Division I college basketball at Cal State Fullerton. Magganas not only took the road less traveled by, she took a path never traveled by anyone when she transfered from suburban College Park to Castlemont High School in Oakland, becoming the only white student on campus.
But, Magganas came out on top "despite all odds," and in the process became a walking testament to the transcendent power of basketball to overcome even the widest barriers.
